Payroll Officer
Responsible to: Payroll ManagerDepartment: People ServicesLocation: JD Sports Fashion PLC, Hollins Brook Way, Bury, BL9 8RRHours: 40 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday.
The Role
The Payroll team supports our colleagues across the business by ensuring their pay is processed seamlessly. Our aim is to deliver a first class service so our colleagues can keep doing what they do best!
The Payroll Executive role is integral to making this happen. You will be responsible for overseeing payroll for some of our 30,000 colleagues, working with the payroll associates to meet key deadlines, and to make sure payroll is delivered right first time and in the right way.
You will be a key player in supporting the team and the wider business. You will be responsible for processing payrolls and will be able to break down processes and complex queries in a way that is understandable for the team and for our colleagues across the business. Putting the colleague first is at the heart of what we do.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:• Complete assigned payrolls accurately and on time, ensuring all processes are followed in line with internal policies and legislative requirements.• Take ownership of your own payroll(s), managing all aspects from start to finish, including investigating and resolving complex queries from colleagues across the business. • Provide support to other team members with their payrolls when required, fostering a collaborative team environment. • Break down payroll processes and complex queries in a way that is understandable for both the team and colleagues across the business. • Continuously seek ways to improve payroll processes and accuracy • Support key stakeholders and departments across the business, providing data and reports as required.
Desirable skills:• Experience of working with Dayforce payroll software• Experience of training colleagues on new skills and processes• Expert excel skills.• Exposure and experience of continuously improving processes.• CIPP or similar accredited• Experience in ROI legislation
