Responsible to: Returns & Stock Control Supervisor
Department: Returns & Stock Control (Group Profit Protection)
Location: Rochdale - Kingsway DC
Hours: 4 on 4 off - Days
Role Overview :
The purpose of the role is to oversee the day to day running of Returns & Stock Control Department and the Stock Removals process. To ensure that daily targets are achieved. To maintain accuracy and deliver a high standard of customer service.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
· To distribute work fairly across the team to ensure the team achieve and maintain targets and objectives whilst meeting high standards of accuracy
· To support in the identification and resolution of departmental operational issues
· To oversee all aspects of Returns & Stock Control including:
o Retail Returns
o Problem Stocks
o Pricing of Clearance Stocks
o Multi-Channel Returns
o Stock Removals
o Supplier Returns
o Audits
o General queries
o eBay
· To report any potential quality or product issues to the relevant departments
· To monitor levels of adjustments within the DC and analyse the information to identify and report on your findings
· To monitor the audit trail of cartons being despatched from the DC
· To trace discrepancies reported by stores.
· To investigate discrepancies reported on “Fast Track” IBT’s
· To audit stocks destined to and passed over to jobbers
· To supervise the removal of ‘End of Line’ stocks to jobbers
· To ensure that all returns are regularly collected
· To carry out spot checks, monitor and oversee stocks destined for disposal including lost property
· To assist with the ongoing development of all members of the department
· To deputise for the Returns and Stock Control Supervisor in their absence.
· To complete any other reasonable ‘adhoc’ task in line with the needs of the Business and your current level of responsibility
· Development of new processes within the department
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
· Some previous experience of first line management within a distribution environment would be preferred
· Previous Returns or Stock Control experienced would be preferred but not essential
· Ability to problem solve
· Good communication skills both written and verbal.
· Be able to demonstrate a high level of literacy and numeracy in order to produce documentation and maintain a variety of accurate records.
· Ability to prioritise work
· Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative.
· A team player
· Computer literate
· Be able to communicate and operate with staff at all levels
· Conflict resolution skills
· Must be Confident in decision making
· Professionalism and Leadership skills are essential
